Roseboro, NC – Two Children Killed in Fatal Fire on Roseboro Hwy

Roseboro, NC (July 2, 2021) – On Friday morning, July 2, a fatal fire took place in a home in Roseboro that took the lives of two children.

According to Roseboro officials, the incident took place at 8800 Roseboro Highway. When the Roseboro Fire Department arrived at the scene, they found a home completely engulfed in flames. Neighbors claim that they saw the house was on fire and helped a woman and her child escape from a window but said that two children were trapped inside.

Fire crews tried to access the home a total of three different ways but they were not successful in doing so. A 12-year-old child in the home also tried to enter the home to rescue the children but was unable to do so.

The two 3-year-olds trapped inside were pronounced dead at the scene. A total of nine people were living in the home at the time. One child was injured and transported to the hospital.

The area was blocked for an extended period of time as crews worked to put out the fire.

No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
