Spring Lake, NC (November 11, 2021) – Around 5 p.m. on the evening of Saturday, November 6, a pedestrian accident injured an officer in Spring Lake.
According to Spring Lake Police, the accident happened at 600 Lillington Highway. Police confirmed that a 27-year-old woman was attempting to leave the scene of an act of larceny. As she was struggling with police, she got into a teal Nissan Altima. The driver sped away, striking an officer who was working the scene of the larceny.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The officer was injured as a result of the accident. He was hospitalized but is expected to fully recover.
Due to the severity of the collision, a portion of the roadway was blocked in the area for some time.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
