Spring Lake, NC (October 25, 2021) – Around 2 p.m. on the afternoon of Monday, October 25, one person was killed in a fatal motorcycle accident in Spring Lake.
According to Spring Lake Police, the accident happened at 700 North Bragg Boulevard. A motorcyclist was traveling in the area when, for reasons that are not yet known, their vehicle was struck by a tractor-trailer. It is believed that the driver of the truck remained at the scene to cooperate with the police.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The driver of the motorcycle, who has not yet been formally identified, was pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not hurt in the accident.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked for a period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
