Wallace, NC (September 29, 2021) – At 7 a.m. on the morning of Wednesday, September 29, a car accident with injuries occurred in Wallace.
According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the accident happened at US-117 and Jonestown Road. A pickup truck was traveling in the area when it failed to yield as it made a left turn at the intersection. This caused it to collide with a passenger vehicle in the area. The vehicles were both extensively damaged.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. The driver of the pickup truck was ejected from his vehicle and injured. Passengers inside both vehicles were also injured and transported to hospitals for treatment.
Police confirmed that the driver of the pickup truck was charged with failing to yield.
Due to the severity of the crash, the roadway was blocked at the intersection for several hours. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
