Wilmington, NC (June 24, 2021) – On Tuesday, June 22, a DUI accident occurred on a roadway in Wilmington that led to injuries.
According to Wilmington Police Department officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Pine Clay Road and Lexington Drive. Police confirmed that 33-year-old Logan Anthony Arnold made a turn at the intersection when his vehicle suddenly went off the side of the road. The vehicle slammed into a street sign and into a wooden fence. The vehicle then struck the Liberty Commons Rehabilitation Center.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help. One or more victims were injured as a result of the crash.
Police confirmed that Arnold was highly intoxicated at the time of the crash. He has since been arrested on charges of DWI, possession of heroin, felony serious injury, reckless driving, and more.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident remains ongoing.
