Wilmington, NC – Two Injured in Critical Car Crash on Tarheel Ct

Wilmington, NC (December 4, 2021) – Around 2:54 a.m. on the morning of Saturday, December 4, a critical car accident occurred in Wilmington.

According to Wilmington Police, the accident happened at 4900 Tarheel Court. Police found that a driver was traveling in the area when they suddenly crashed inside the Hawthorne Commons apartment building. It is believed that they were struck by another vehicle before this occurred. The vehicle involved in the accident was badly damaged as a result.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The two people inside the vehicle, who have not yet been formally identified, were critically injured in the accident. The parties were rushed to Hanover Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Police confirmed that the other vehicle involved in the accident fled the scene. They have not yet found the responsible party.

The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time as police cleared the scene.

No further details have been released but the investigation into the accident continues.
