Winston-Salem, NC (September 26, 2021) – At 8 p.m. on Saturday night, September 25, a woman was killed in a fatal pedestrian crash in Winston-Salem.
According to Winston-Salem Police, the accident happened at 4700 Country Club Road. A woman identified as Misty Dozier was walking in the travel lane of traffic as she crossed the street. She was suddenly struck by a passenger vehicle in the area. The driver remained at the scene of the accident.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Dozier was traumatically injured and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle that struck her was not injured and cooperated with the police. Police worked to clear the scene within several hours.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
