Benson, NC (January 26, 2022) – Around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday night, January 25, a man was killed in a construction accident in Benson.
According to officials, the accident happened at 1300 Zacks Mill Road. A 19-year-old male worker was moving lines at the construction site when he was suddenly electrocuted due to reasons that are not yet known. It is not known if any other workers were with him in that immediate area at the time.
Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. When officials arrived at the scene, the 19-year-old was pronounced dead due to severe injuries. Nobody else was hurt due to the accident.
The area was blocked off for some time as a result of the accident.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
