Fayetteville, NC (January 8, 2022) – On Friday night, January 7, a man was killed in a fatal motorcycle accident in Fayetteville.
Officials confirmed that the accident happened on Raeford Road around the area of Ireland Drive. A 20-year-old motorcyclist identified as Bryce Hyz was riding on his Honda motorcycle when he was suddenly struck by a sedan in the area. Hyz was immediately thrown from his bike due to the severity of the accident.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Hyz was severely injured and was pronounced dead at the scene due to his injuries. It is not known if anyone else was hurt in the accident.
Due to the severity of the collision, the roadway was entirely blocked in the area by Raeford Road and Faison Avenue. Police quickly worked to clear the scene. They did not say if anyone will be charged for the accident.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
