Greensboro, NC – Two Injured in Car Accident in EB Lanes of I-40

Greensboro, NC (January 7, 2022) – Two people were hurt in a serious car accident on a highway in Greensboro at 7:12 p.m. on Thursday evening, January 6.

Police confirmed that the crash happened in the eastbound lanes of I-40 around the area of West Wendover Avenue. A passenger vehicle was traveling in the area when it collided with a pickup truck owned by Guilford County due to reasons that are not yet known. The pickup truck was stopped in the area with flashing lights so that the driver could remove an obstruction from the road. The accident led to extensive damages.

Paramedics and numerous other local responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Two people, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals for treatment of injuries. They are expected to fully recover.

Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked on the highway except for one lane. Drivers traveling through the area were asked to avoid the area.
