Harrisburg, NC (January 27, 2022) – Four people were injured in a school bus crash that took place in Harrisburg on Wednesday afternoon, January 26.
According to Cabarrus County officials, the accident happened in the afternoon hours on Lower Rocky River Road. A school bus was traveling in the area when the driver of a passenger vehicle suddenly crossed the center line. The vehicle slammed head-on into the school bus. This caused the passenger vehicle to become wedged underneath the bus, which sparked a fire.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. No students were on the bus at the time. The bus driver, the driver of the passenger vehicle, and two passengers sustained injuries in the accident. They are expected to recover from their injuries.
Due to the severity of the collision, a portion of the roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing. Police will update with more information as it becomes available.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
Bus Accidents in North Carolina
Bus accidents do not happen as commonly as other accidents on our roads. However, when they do occur, they tend to lead to extensive damage to the vehicles involved, as well as serious injuries at times. Buses are known as common carriers. This means that bus drivers are expected to take passengers from one point to another for a fee. Those who utilize buses and those who are in other vehicles are susceptible to extensive harm when a bus crash happens. If you have been hurt in a life-altering bus collision, you should have the dedicated help of an attorney on your side.
Nobody is ever fully prepared to face the aftermath of a bus crash completely on their own. If you have been hurt in a bus crash, you may be left with a wide array of questions that you cannot answer without the help of an attorney on your side. For instance, what evidence do you need to prove that another party is at fault for your accident? What deadlines will you be required to meet when it comes to moving forward with a claim? Will your claim be settled or will it make it all the way to trial? These are questions that you can answer when you speak with a skilled Harrisburg personal injury attorney.
