Raleigh, NC (January 23, 2022) – On Sunday, January 23, a multi-vehicle collision with injuries took place on a major highway in Raleigh.
Raleigh Police confirmed that the accident happened at 5:00 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-40 around the area of mile marker 298.
Several vehicles were traveling in the area when one or more lost control, causing the vehicles to forcefully collide in the area. This led to extensive damages to the involved vehicles.
Paramedics and other responders, including fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
Two out of five lanes on the highway were blocked in the area for some time until police were able to clear the scene.
