Raleigh, NC (January 14, 2022) – Around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday morning, a woman was seriously injured in a hit-and-run pedestrian crash in Raleigh.
Police confirmed that the accident happened on Glenwood Avenue just south of Wade Avenue. A woman identified as Liz Criner was walking to a friend’s house at night when she was suddenly struck by a vehicle that was traveling through the area. The driver of the vehicle did not stop at the scene.
Numerous responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. A police officer initially discovered Criner, who was found unconscious following the accident. She was hospitalized and sustained a severe leg injury as a result of the collision.
The roadway was blocked in the area for some time following the collision. Police are still searching for the driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian. The vehicle has been identified only as a 2017 black or gray Lexus.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
