Raleigh, NC – Pedestrian Accident with Injuries on Glenwood Ave

Raleigh, NC (January 21, 2022) – One person sustained injuries in a pedestrian accident that took place on a roadway in Raleigh on Thursday, January 20.

According to Raleigh Police, the accident happened at 11:47 p.m. at 600 Glenwood Avenue around the area of Peace Avenue. A pedestrian, who has not yet been identified, was walking in the area when they were suddenly struck by a passenger vehicle that was also in the area. It is believed that the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.

Paramedics and numerous other local responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian was seriously injured as a result of the collision. The injured party was rushed to the hospital, though their condition is not yet known.

Due to the severity of the accident, a large portion of the roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
