Raleigh, NC – Six Injured in Car Crash at Avent Ferry Rd & Chappell Dr

Raleigh, NC (January 9, 2022) – Around 8:28 p.m. on the night of Sunday, January 9, a car crash with injuries occurred in Raleigh.

According to Raleigh Police, the accident happened at the intersection of Avent Ferry Road and Chappell Drive. Police reported that two vehicles were traveling in the area when they suddenly entered the intersection at the same time, forcefully colliding with one another. The severe accident led to extensive damages to the involved vehicles.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other local responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Three people were pinned inside their vehicles and needed to be rescued by fire crews. A total of six people were rushed to local hospitals, with some of these injuries traumatic in nature.

Due to the severity of the accident, a large portion of the intersection was blocked in the area for some time.

No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
