Snow Hill, NC (January 14, 2022) – Two people were severely injured in a pedestrian accident that took place in Snow Hill on Thursday, January 13.
According to local officials, the accident happened around 5:30 p.m. on Lloyd Harrison Road. Two pedestrians were walking alongside the road in the area when they were suddenly struck by a vehicle that was traveling in the area due to unknown reasons. It is not known if the vehicle remained at the scene.
Numerous responders, including Snow Hill fire crews and paramedics, were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The two pedestrians, who have not yet been identified, were both seriously injured. They were rushed to Vidant Medical Center for treatment of their injuries.
The roadway was blocked in several lanes for a period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues. Police will continue to update as more information becomes available.
