As an Army veteran and former prosecutor, Avi is no stranger to the fight for justice. At the age of 18, he joined the U.S. Army, where he served as a Sergeant in the 10th Mountain Division and completed two combat tours in Iraq. He then continued his military service in the California Army National Guard while attending college at California State University, Northridge.

After graduating college with honors, Avi attended Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. During law school, he served as the Chief Production Editor of the Loyola of Los Angeles Entertainment Law Review and competed as a member of the Scott Moot Court Honors Program and the Byrne Trial Advocacy Team. He also externed for the Honorable Dean D. Pregerson of the United States District Court and interned for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

For the next several years, Avi served as a Deputy District Attorney in northern and central California. There he conducted 18 jury trials and 100+ evidentiary hearings, prosecuting crimes ranging from DUI and vehicle theft to gang violence and homicide. His extensive success in the courtroom shows his proven track record of getting excellent results.

An East-coast native, Avi eventually moved to North Carolina to be closer to family. Here, as a member of the Ricci Law Firm, Avi continues the fight for justice by advocating for those who have been injured, hurt, and mistreated.
